European Union COP26 side event: Beyond Cutting Methane Emissions: Why We Need to Enhance Atmospheric Methane Oxidation

Methane momentum is building at COP26, both for fast mitigation strategies to reduce anthropogenic emissions  and for strategies that can remove methane from the atmosphere, including the 40% of methane from natural sources.

The event was hosted on 1 November at the EU Pavilion at COP26 in Glasgow.

The US-EU Global Methane Pledge will be launched by heads of  State on 2  November,  with more than  70 countries already participating.
