Xiaopu Sun

Xiaopu Sun is Senior China Counsel at IGSD. She has over a decade of experience working on advancing the reduction of short-lived climate pollutants including hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and methane through national laws, regulations, and standards with a focus on China. Among others, she has conducted research and collaborative projects on China’s air pollution law enforcement, improvement of China’s room air conditioner energy efficiency standards, and HFO-1234yf patent status in China. She is the author of many works, recently including Fast Action on Short-lived Climate Pollutants and Nature-based Solutions to Help Countries Meet Carbon Neutrality Goals (Advances in Climate Change Research, 2022); and Status of Patents and Legal Challenges: Patents Related to the Use of HFO-1234yf in Auto Air Conditioning (IGSD, 2021).

Xiaopu holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School and an LL.B. in Law and an LL.M. with a concentration in Environmental Law from Peking University Law School in Beijing.
