Dr. Julie Miller
Dr. Julie Miller is a Research Associate at IGSD working closely with the IGSD team, including our Chief Scientist, Dr. Gabrielle Dreyfus, to support original scientific studies through data analysis, modeling, and research design, while also helping keep the team up to date with the latest climate science.
Prior to IGSD, Julie was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, where she studied the evolution of cooperation and collective behavior in ant colonies. Her research combined both theoretical modeling and ecological fieldwork, including in tropical, Mediterranean, and desert ecosystems. She draws from her experience working in academia and in the tech industry, where she worked as a Data Analyst at HopSkipDrive. She also worked as a liaison between scientists and environmental non-profits at the Natural Capital Institute.
Julie holds a PhD in Behavioral Ecology from Cornell University, a Masters in Ecology and Evolution from San Francisco State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Brandeis University. She is conversational in French.
